School: Eurocentres Eltham
Course: Intensive 25

Why did you choose Eurocentres?

The main reason why I chose Eurocentres London Eltham is that the location of school is suitable for study. Eltham is located in a suburb of London so it is calm and quiet. However, there are many direct trains from the nearest station to the centre of London so we can enjoy exciting leisure time in one of the most attractive cities in the world.

I can go to school within 10 minutes on foot and stay with a lovely British home stay.

Moreover, a lot of host families are living in Eltham so it is easy to find the accommodation near school. Thanks to this, I can go to school within 10 minutes on foot and I could get a nice opportunity to stay with a lovely British host family. In the end, there are many local people in Eltham so we can experience more real life in the UK.

Do you have specific objectives for your studies?

Before I came to London I had studied English grammar and vocabulary in school, but there were not enough opportunities to use them in real life. That is why I decided to practise English speaking and listening harder and use them in the UK, where you have a lot of opportunities to speak English.

The reason why I want to be able to speak English is that I would like to be a teacher and teach English in Japan. Therefore, that skill is needed. Also, I am majoring in international education at a Japanese university so I must write an academic thesis which is written in English. Therefore, I decided to study not only daily vocabulary, but also academic ones at Eurocentres Eltham.

What do you feel you have achieved so far?

I have a lot of opportunities to practise English speaking and listening skills in my class at Eurocentres and I think these skills have improved. As evidence of this, I had many precious foreign friends and I have been enjoying hanging out and travelling with them.

Also, it is very easy to travel abroad from London so I have already visited many European countries on holiday and these travels are fantastic. Thanks to them, not only my English skills have improved, but I could also learn interesting other countries' culture. Moreover, I have been studying academic English in IELTS classes so I am getting used to reading British news articles and magazines. I enjoy them so much.

What do you think about the course and your teachers?

The courses in Eurocentres are interactive. I think it is one of the main features of Eurocentres and it was so new for me. I like this teaching style, because I had lots of opportunities to speak English in class. Teachers of Eurocentres are all kind and supportive so I could get help for both study and daily life. In my case, thanks to Eurocentres' help, I had the opportunity to work at a local primary school as a volunteer.

Nationality: Japanese
Age: 69
School: Eurocentres Paris
Course: French
Language Level (before course): Beginner

Why did you choose Eurocentres?

My daughter-in-law studied English at Eurocentres Vancouver and loved the experience there.

Do you have specific objectives for your studies?

I just wanted to learn some French to be able to communicate in everyday conversation and be able to talk about French literature, history and art.

What do you feel you have achieved so far?

I only spent 3 months studying at Eurocentres so I can't say that I have achieved all my objectives. I can communicate in a very basic level but I have plans to go back and study more at Eurocentres in a near future.

How did the course help you?

I didn't know any French at all when I got here. Now I can communicate at bakeries, museums and ask some questions to French people.

What do you think about the course material and the teachers at Eurocentres?

My teacher Nathalie is a very nice person and is very helpful. The course material was ok.

Any other feedback (positive or negative) that you would like to add?

One of the things that I liked about the school is that I didn't learn only French but also learned about the French culture, way of life, food and wine. I also had the opportunity to join a lot of interesting events such as French wine and cheese tasting, strolling along the Seine River and going to museums.

Also, all the people who work at Eurocentres were so nice and eager to help me with anything. I really had a wonderful experience there and made so many friends who I still am in contact with. Despite my age I made a lot of young friends that made me feel young too! After this experience I felt more fulfilled and happy!
