Getting to San Diego

Fly towards the sun! Getting there by plane is the most comfortable way to do it. You can choose from a wealth of airlines, including Lufthansa, United Airlines and America Airlines. Most of them require a stopover within the USA before touching down in San Diego International Airport. You can get to the city centre in just 10 minutes by taxi and it costs about 15 US dollars. It is also easy to make the transfer by bus. The Amtrak train links San Diego with the vast US railway network, offering countless possibilities for city trips to the west coast and the rest of the USA.

Sightseeing: A sunny language stay in the outdoors

Getting to San Diego is a popular topic within the city too. Many locals jokingly claim that you can get to every area of the city within 20 minutes. That is not entirely true; nevertheless, you can still get to all the sights in San Diego very quickly and easily. This is a real advantage for your language study abroad – after all, in sunny San Diego life happens outside and not in any vehicle. It takes just 15 minutes to get from the city centre to the famous Coronado Bridge. Getting to Balboa Park is even quicker. In addition to endless green parks and pretty fountains, there are a total of 17 museums and the world-famous San Diego Zoo with more than 3700 animals and countless exotic plants. The summer never seems to end in San Diego – the perfect source for endless motivation for high-quality language acquisition.

A typical day at Eurocentres San Diego

Of course, Su-Yun had already heard a lot about the American lifestyle and this is why she chose San Diego. Despite this, her first few days in the new location were not so easy. The helpfulness of the Eurocentres team in San Diego, however, helped her get over the initial difficulties. Now, Su-Yun goes back and forth to school, goes on excursions with her classmates from all over the world and can no longer understand why she had such problems in the beginning. This morning, Su-Yun was dropped off at school by her host father, John, on his way to work.

Before going to her classroom, Su-Yun grabs an apple, one of the many snacks in the cafeteria that are free of charge. She looks forward to her classes and her English skills have improved tremendously in a very short time. Encouraged by this quick success, she is even considering taking the certificate exam. She wants to discuss this option with the administration team during the lunch break before meeting her friends in the nearby steakhouse.
