Accompanied tours of the city and its surroundings provide outstanding opportunities for getting to know the city and the range of cultural activities available. During the weekend, trips to Vyborg or Novgorod or other historically and culturally important cities are also possible.

Day excursion to Weliki Nowogorod

Program
Weliki Nowogorod is the oldest town in Russia. The town is an architectural gem. Founded in 859, Nowogorod developed itself to the Northern Trade Center of the First Russian Empire, the Kiev Rus. The town contains many of the oldest churches of the country: the Sofia cathedral is the oldest and is situated in the Kremlin. As Nowogorod was build on the banks of the Wochchow below Lake Ilmen, it is also surrounded by picturesque moorland and forest areas.

07.00 Meet at Metro Ligowski Prospekt and transfer to Weliki Nowogorod
10.00 Arrival in Weliki Nowogorod followed by tour of the town
12.00 Lunch in restaurant (incl. Met, juice and tea)
13.30 Visit of Perynski and/or of the Juriew cloister
15.00 Visit of the “Wytoslawlizy“ open-air museum and of the Nowogorod Kremlin
19.00 Return journey to St. Petersburg
22.00 Arrival in St. Petersburg


Price includes
Return coach journey from St. Petersburg to Weliki Nowogorod. Russian-speaking guide throughout the day. Guide tour of the town, including visit to the open-air museum and to the Nowogorod Kremlin. All entrance fees, lunch and drinks.
