Situated in the heart of Europe, Lausanne is 35 min. from Geneva, 3½ hours from Paris by TGV, 4 hours from Milan or Munich.

Main attractions
Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and the nearby mountains. The picturesque old town, much of which is closed to traffic, with a great variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Lausanne is a lively city with interesting museums and art galleries. It is also a university town with lots of cultural activities and events (e.g. Festival de la Cité in summer, the Jazz Festival Montreux or the famous Maurice Béjart Ballet Company). Lausanne is known as the Olympic City and hosts the headquarters of the Olympic committee as well as the fabulous Olympic Museum. Sports events are organised throughout the year; from world figure skating competitions to athletic meetings and roller-blading and in-line skating contests, to name but a few!
