In La Rochelle, students can immerse themselves completely in the life of the town. As well as innumerable cafés, bars and restaurants, there are 24 cinemas and a large cultural centre. La Rochelle is the city of water-sports including sailing, windsurfing and swimming. Those who love cycling will be able to do so to their hearts’ content.

Weekend excursion to Bordelais

2 days/1 night

Program
Bordeaux is a coastal and cultural city, steeped in history and offers unique 18th century architecture. The city also features ten municipal museums, safeguarding its cultural heritage, the Musée d'Aquitaine (museum of regional history), the Musée des Beaux Arts (art gallery), the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (museum of applied art) and the CAPC (museum of contemporary art). There is also a national museum and several private museums, two of which are wine museums. The area surrounding Bordeaux (endless Atlantic coast beaches, pine forests, lake districts, traditional villages …) is particularly attractive. You will also have the chance to discover the Bordelais – the wine region around Bordeaux. We will be visiting St. Emilion, a jewel hidden away in the vineyards. The name St. Emilion is used for a special quality wine. After a walk through the picturesque narrow streets and a visit to the wine cellar and some wine tasting, we return to La Rochelle.

Day 1: Meet and depart by coach for Bordeaux early on Saturday morning. We reach Bordeaux after an approx. 2-hour drive along the motorway. Upon arrival in Bordeaux, we will visit the main sights by coach and on foot. Free evening in Bordeaux.

Day 2: After breakfast, drive to Bordelais, the wine region of the Bordeaux area. At lunchtime we arrive at the small town of St. Emilion, where you can purchase some souvenirs or go for a walk. We continue in the early afternoon and visit a vineyard, followed by wine tasting.

Price includes
Coach trip from La Rochelle to Bordeaux, city tour in Bordeaux. Accommodation including breakfast in twin and triple rooms in a central tourist class hotel. Trip through Bordelais wine region and visit of a vineyard including wine tasting. Meals are not included.
