Main attractions
Dublin has a wide range of art galleries and museums and well as many places of particular interest – Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery, Christchurch and St Patrick’s Cathedrals and Temple Bar. There are several large theatres as well as many smaller ones offering more avant-garde productions; cinemas, bowling alleys, pubs and clubs.

The Dublin pubs are very varied – there are the traditional pubs offering live Irish music, dancing and sing-songs; large modern pubs where the many young, vibrant, fun-loving Dubliners and visitors alike congregate on weekends and there are the small, quiet pubs where friends meet up to talk and exchange news and views. There are pubs frequented by politicians, artists and musicians – famous and not-so-famous - and there are pubs frequented only by the locals; there are pubs for jazz fans and pubs for rock fans. The choice is endless.

The National Concert Hall has concerts year round; there are several large musical productions each year in the Point Theatre. There are dog races several evenings per week and horse races in the suburbs at least twice per month.

Climate
Temperate. 2–5°C in January, rarely above 23°C in July–August. Snow rarely falls in Dublin, but it rains quite often. Bring an umbrella!
